Full throttle preparations for Sunday’s home opener are under way for the Dallas Cowboys at the Star in Frisco.
The Boys got a little surprise this week as suspended defensive tackle David Irving is back at the facility trying to get himself back into shape for a potential return to the field.
The Silver Star Nation’s Mickey Spagnola shares his insight on Irving and what Dallas must do Sunday to have better success than they did this past Sunday in a 16-8 loss at Carolina.
“He (Irving) is suspended four consecutive games. He’s already missed one but he is allowed to be able to work with the Cowboys strength and conditioning coaches. Although, not with the football coaches, nor any of the players. But at least he was back doing conditioning work at the star.”
“As far as the Cowboys offensive players, they all know they need to get off to a faster start than they did against carolina. No way can they start the first four possessions facing third-and-six, second-and-17, second-and-17, and third-and-eleven. That’s a recipe for a disaster.”
It’ll be a pair of 0-1 teams facing off Sunday at Jerry’s World when the Giants come in for an NFC East showdown. It airs on NBC’s Sunday Night Football and kicks off at 7:20 p.m.
