Is it time to panic now?
Another lack-luster performance by the Dallas Cowboys leaves many wondering, where are the 2018 Boys headed?
After falling at the Seahawks 24-13 Sunday to drop to 1-2 on the season, it seems like nowhere good.
It’s no secret the Cowboys offense is the biggest problem right now that they have. In their one victory, the Cowboys scored twenty points. In their two losses, the Cowboys have combined for just 21 points. And a lot of the problems are with the passing game. Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett certainly knows that well.
“Ah, it’s not good enough. We have to get better throwing the football. Again, we have to be more efficient, and we have to be more explosive throwing the ball. And we weren’t either one of those things yesterday in the game. And there are a lot of components to it. Certainly the position that we’re trying to put our players in, that’s where we start as a coaching staff. But then there’s a protection component, there’s a decision-making component, there’s a throw and catch component, there’s a winning on the route component. And again, we have to improve in all those areas,” said Garrett.
There’s really no quick fix for the Cowboys. They just have to get better in a lot of different areas. They’ve got to block better. In their two losses, Dak Prescott has been sacked 11 times, and hit 20 times. They have to do a better job with protection. They’re running the ball well, but Ezekiel Elliott, can’t put the ball on the ground, and make other costly mistakes. As Jason Garrett said, “Gotta get better in that passing game.”
