The Cowboys struggled mightily on offense Sunday as they fell at the Carolina Panthers 16-8 to open their 2018 regular season. They played okay defensively at times, and were just average on special teams.
Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett gave his perspective after having an opportunity to go over the game film on Monday.
“Well it wasn’t good enough on offense really from top to bottom. We didn’t run it well enough. We didn’t throw it well enough. And Dak was certainly a part of that. There were some good things in the game for him. He made some good throws. He made some good plays with his feet, did some good things down in the red zone, the option, and the two-point conversion. Those are some positive plays. But you know we didn’t play well enough offensively. We scored eight points in the game. We didn’t posses the ball enough. We weren’t good enough on third down, and everybody has a part of that.”
The Silver Star Nation’s Mickey Spagnola believes the team can only go up from here.
The Cowboys face the New York Giants this coming Sunday in their home opener at in Arlington.
The contest which airs on NBC’s Sunday Night Football kicks off at 7:20pm.
