Every year a talented senior comes out of a smaller college and shocks NFL scouts with their sheer determination.

Ryan Smith spent four years with North Carolina Central, moving from free safety to cornerback after two years.

The smaller CB only picked up a football late in high school, but he managed to become the first NCCU player to earn a combine invite by the time he was done with college.

Scouts worry about his size, but he showed pretty good speed with a 4.45 time in his 40-yard dash. He projects as a mid-to-late round draft pick.
