The unheralded Cowboys

They serve as the silent protectors, rarely seeking recognition. Yet they protect Jerry Jones most coveted investments. They are the offensive line.

“The best teams in this league since the beginning of time have been good on the offensive and defensive line,” Head Coach Jason Garrett said.

The Dallas Cowboys sport 1,591 pounds of muscle and technique on an offensive line which is second to none in the NFL.

“We recognize how important that is and it certainly helps the skill players play to their optimum,” Garret said during his morning press conference.

All-pro center Travis Frederick hasn’t allowed a sack in two seasons.

“I think this season’s been different in how we’ve jelled together,” Frederick said.

Frederick is flanked by all-pro guard Zack Martin and Ronald Leary who has not allowed a sack this season.

Then you’ve got all-pro tackle Tyron Smith and Doug Free paving the way for the league’s top-rusher.

“That’s our game every week. We’re a team that runs the ball first and everybody knows that. We don’t try to hide it. That’s just the attitude of our team,” running back Zeke Elliott said.

Garrett believes the philosophy of winning in the trenches is big for their squad.

“We certainly like our offensive line. One of the things we’ve tried to do is build a team that’s physical and and wins the line of scrimmage,” Garrett said.

Dallas plays this Sunday at 3:40 p.m. against the Green Bay Packers.
