George H. W. Bush was celebrated with high praise and loving humor Wednesday as the nation bade farewell to the man who was America’s 41st president and the last to fight for the U.S. in wartime.

Here are the most memorable moments of the day in video. 


Former President George H.W. Bush has left Washington for the last time. A plane carrying the casket of the 41st president of the United States and the Bush family departed for Texas on Wednesday afternoon.

After an emotional but joyful funeral ceremony, the Bush family and the remains of President George H.W. Bush departed Wednesday (12/05) from Joint Base Andrews, MD in Air Force One to Ellington Field in Houston, TX.

 There was both laughter and tears… as thousands cathered in the National Cathedral to remember George Herbert Walker Bush, who died last week at the age of 94. Courtney Zubowski reports from Houston, where the tributes will continue for the nation’s 41st president.
