Muleshoe and Bailey County are served by the Muleshoe Area Medical Center, providing them with local care.
“We have a large county, we provide lots of services,” Lucy Garcia said. Garcia is the Chief Nursing Officer for Muleshoe Area Medical Center.
Within their center, Garcia said there’s an emergency room, two clinics, and a nursing home.
Garcia said they are working on re-applying for their Level 4 Trauma certification.
“We really need that service here, in this rural area, because we can stabilize them before we can get them to a bigger hospitals in Lubbock or Amarillo,” Garcia said.
Garcia said they are currently going through upgrades as the center as well, including expanding their clinics.
