#20 LCU Drops Two to #8 Angelo State

The No. 20 Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals dropped both games of the doubleheader against No. 8 Angelo State University 7-0 and 6-2 Tuesday at PlainsCapital Park on the LCU campus.
 
SHUTOUT
The Lady Chaps (17-10) could not get much going managing only six base runners in the game off five hits and a walk. Angelo State (26-1) scored a run in the first inning, three in the second inning, two more in the fourth inning and one in the fifth inning. Bailey Wallace and Brooke Mangold each hit home runs in the game.
 
IN THE CIRCLE
Katera Eltsosie (8-4) got the start for LCU five innings allowing six runs off six hits while walking five to suffer her fourth loss of the season. Katlyn Holmes went two innings in relief allowing only one run off two hits. Brandy Marlett (12-1) started in the circle for the Rambelles going five innings allowing five hits striking out six Lady Chaps to earn her 12th victory of the year. Morgan Hill pitched the last two innings not allowing any hits striking out one.
 
TWO
In game two the Rambelles scored two runs in the second inning and another four in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead before the Lady Chaps scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth with the first coming when Addison Ard drove in Sydney Beuthien and the second coming off the bat of Logan Grado who brought in Lindzi Clemmer.
 
IN THE CIRCLE
Monique Garcia (7-6) started in the circle for the Lady Chaps going four innings allowing six runs off six hits while walking four Rambelles for her sixth loss of the season. Katlyn Holmes pitched the final three innings not allowing any runs on three hits striking out two. Kennedy Urbany (9-0) went four innings allowing two runs on five hits before giving way to Morgan Hill who threw the last three innings not allowing any runs on one hit.
 
SPRING BREAK
The Lady Chaps will take several days off for Spring Break before returning to the field Tuesday, March 21 for a double-header against Eastern New Mexico with the first pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m.(CST). You can catch all of the action at www.lcuchaps.com.
