Texas Tech capped off what could be considered the greatest four game stretch in program history with a 13-1 beat down of #4 Arizona.
The Red Raiders have now taken three out of four from the likes of Ole Miss, LSU, and the Wildcats. The lone loss came last Friday to Texas A&M.
Tuesday night Tech was a remarkable 7-16 with runners in scoring position.
The Wildcats drew first blood with a run in the top of the first but Texas Tech would go on to score 13 unanswered.
Connor Beck and Michael Berglund got things started in the bottom of the second, Beck beat out an infield single to score Tanner Gardner while Berglund plated Beck with an RBI single. Both hits came with two outs.
The catcher led way with three hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs, designated hitter Cam Warren led the team in RBIs with three.
The Red Raiders scored in five consecutive innings with the knockout punch coming in the bottom of the 6th, Tech put up a 6 spot in the frame with the help of five free passes.
On the mound John Henry Gonzalez went 3.2 innings allowing one unearned run, Jacob Patterson, Erikson Lanning and Caleb Freeman finished off the game in scoreless fashion.
Up next for Texas Tech is a three game series with UTSA. Game one is slated for a 6:30 pm start at Dan Law Field.
