Texas Rangers Head Coach Jeff Banister held a Q&A session with media Thursday.

Among the highlights, the Rangers carrying a big stick so far during Spring Training.

“It’s nice to see that show up in Spring Training.  And I know that these guys, more importantly, our approaches at the plate have been solid. We’ve made a conscious effort to stay off the pull side and stay in the middle of the diamond. We’ve done a great job of that thus far this spring, but to see the power show up for these guys, it’s really nice to see. Give them the feel goo also,” said Banister.

The coach also said their results so far can be attributed to a tenacity the team has held onto since last year.

“Well, that we did the things that we talked about at the end of the year last year, of preparing themselves during the offseason, to continue to have that burning competitive desire and to be prepared day one so that you can show up and compete everyday. And again, Numbers in Spring Training are not indicative of what’s going to happen during the regular season. What it does tell us is that these guys are attentive, they’ve got great energy and they’re working on their approach,” said Banister.
