The Big 12 is back in the expansion business.
Conveniently after all of the cameras were turned off, and Big 12 media days had come to a close, Oklahoma President David Boren and Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby announced via teleconference that the league would pursue the addition of at least two or even possibly four teams.
Boren announced that the criteria the conference search committee would use included five factors: athletic department strength, fan base size, the media markets teams attract, academic strength and reputation.
Today via Twitter both the like of the University of Memphis and BYU threw their hat in the ring.
