Governor Greg Abbott said late Tuesday afternoon that he’s rooting for the Texas Tech Red Raiders men’s basketball team.
For the first time ever, the Red Raiders will appear in the Final Four. Texas Tech will play against Michigan State on Saturday at 7:49 p.m. CDT.
“For the men’s Final Four, I’ve got one thing to say and that’s wreck ‘em,” said Abbott as he held his “guns up.”
This is the second year Tech has made it to the Elite Eight and the only school in Texas to make it into the Final Four this year.
“First of all, this is huge for any school. It’s terrific for Texas Tech, I know they’ve been in the Elite 8. It’s great to see them in the Final Four,” said Abbott. “It’s great for the university. It’s great for the entire state of Texas.”
Wednesday morning, the Texas Tech men’s basketball team left Lubbock to go compete in the Final Four tournament in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
