The Brownfield Runnin’ Cubs avenged last season’s regional final 56-55 loss to Childress, by defeating the Bobcats 80-58 on Saturday in this year’s regional final to secure their first trip to the state tournament since 1989.
Brownfield started the game on an 18-0 run and didn’t relent, forcing 19 turnovers on their way to victory. Now the Runnin’ Cubs must prepare for 9th ranked Aransas Pass on Thursday at 3pm in the Alamo Dome.
