On Saturday morning, the Estacado Matadors hosted the Cooper Pirates in the First Bank Classic.
Both teams got on the board early, with the Pirates using a Jordan Salas double to put a run on the board in the top of the first. In the bottom half of the first, the Matadors responded, using a Manuel Rios sac fly to tie the game. But the Pirates would be too much, as they’d go on to win 9-1.
Next up for the Matadors, they will host Midland Greenwood on Thursday at 7pm. The Pirates will visit Abilene Cooper on Saturday at 1pm.
