The game was scoreless until the 5th inning when Jarred Gibson singled to center field giving the Pirates a 3-2 lead.
The Westerners responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 5th after an Adrian Valerio two run double.
Lubbock High was down 5-2 heading into the bottom of the 7th but cut the lead to one with a Noah Cruz two run homerun. Tommy D’Alise came in for the Pirates to secure the win for Lubbock Cooper.
