The Lady Raiders snapped a three-game losing streak this Saturday, knocking off Kansas Jayhawks 54-44 behind 37 points between Tech’s freshman guard Japreece Dean, and junior guard Ivonne CookTaylor.

Dean led the Lady Raiders in scoring with a game-high 21 points on the night, due in large part to her ability to get into the paint and find her way to the charity stripe, where she hit a career-high 11-of-12 from the line.

“Japreece hit some big shots for us, at some key times, and some that aren’t the easiest,” Lady Raiders head basketball coach Candi Whitaker said. “She takes high volume shots right now, and I want her to do that. I want more to go, but she’s also finding ways to get to the line, which is where she scored the majority of her points tonight. That’s been an emphasis for us. She’s just too quick to not get in there and find her way to the line.”
