Japreece Dean may have been the fastest high school point guard in the State of Texas last season, and now she’s taking her talents to the South Plains.

As a point guard for Vista Ridge High School in the Austin area, she led her team to the state semifinals, averaging 17 points and seven assists per game.

“I’m in the gym every day,” said a never-complacent Dean. “I just can’t stay out. I know there are people out there who are better than me.”

Although she’ll be a true freshman this year, there is a good possibility on the depth chart to fit in and contribue immediately for the Lady Raiders.

And Dean has already taken advantage of being on campus, sending out multiple pictures of her practicing at the United Spirit Arena this summer.
