The level of competition doesn’t do them any favors, but it’s hard to remember a game in recent memory in which the defensive line was more dominant than against Stephen F. Austin.

In the first half, Tech’s defense only allowed 121 total yards, including negative five rushing yards.

However, the front four aren’t looking for a pat on the back, knowing that they are headed for a much stiffer test this weekend at Arizona State.

“You know you always want to tap yourself on the back after one like that, but you kind of want to keep your head on straight because SFA is a good school, but it’s not Arizona State,” Tech sophomore defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko said. “You know, going into Temp this week, they go fast, they tempo. I think we can hold them to under 100 every game. I think that’s the goal.”

“He was pretty excited for the most part. Of course, he wanted, you know, the ball a little bit more, so we got to do a better job of turning the ball over and making plays,” Tech senior defensive lineman Ondre Pipkins said. “But for the most part, I think Coach Gibbs was pretty excited.”
