It was a battle of the Fillies at Lubbock Christian University on Tuesday night, as Shallowater and Denver City faced off in the regional quarterfinals.
Denver City got the edge early, taking a 27-23 lead into halftime. Late in the third, trailing by 10, Morgan Bennett stole the Denver City pass and raced to the other end for the layup, cutting the Denver City lead to 39-31 going into the fourth quarter. But Denver City was too much for Shallowater, as they would go on to win 50-44.
Shallowater ends the season 30-5, while Denver City will take on Wall in the regional semi-finals at Midland College.
