Coach Wagner and the Estacado boys basketball team have built a reputation in district. They were the district champions last year and see conference games as getting them one step closer to their goals.
“One of the good things about being here at Estacado is that we built expectation in our guys and all of them expect to be district champions,” Coach Wagner says. “Our goal is a little further along than that. They come in they just know [district] is part of the process to become a state champion and a regional champion. It helps with the seeding process so its just one of the steps you have to take to reach some of the other goals.”
Estacado begins district play by traveling to Snyder, they return home Tuesday night to face Sweetwater.
