Up in Plainview Wayland Baptist hosted Hutch Hysteria Thursday night.
The event included a slam dunk contest, three point competition, and intrasquad scrimmage.
The Flying Queens are ranked 22nd heading into the season.
Head Coach Alesha Robertson-Ellis says expectations are high for the queens, “I think we’ve got a young group this year but they work together better than any team that I’ve had and so it will be very exciting, I always expect to win the league and we want to go far in nationals.”
On the men’s side the Pioneers were picked to finish 7th in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Head Coach Ty Harrelson says things should be better this season, “we’re a little bit taller than we were last year we really struggled on the rebounds so hopefully we can secure some rebounds and really the team chemistry has been great so far it’s tough to tell in the preseason.”
