It was another Saturday, and another night checking into the Heartbreak Hotel for the Red Raider basketball team, who allowed two second chance buckets by Arkansas to force overtime.

In the end Texas Tech fell on the road 75-68, as they watched another game slip through their fingers.

The catalyst for the Hogs was their junior guard, and former Red Raider Dusty Hannahs, who dropped 25 points on his former team.

Hannahs scored 21 of his 25 points in the first half to give Arkansas the one point lead at the break, and showed everyone this game was more than just the next one on the calendar.

“When you’re playing your old school, I mean, any of y’all would know if you played your old middle school or something,” Hannahs said. “But I tried to be aggressive the whole game and it worked out in the beginning.”

“Yeah, well we gave him a great opportunity to be that way,” Texas Tech head basketball coach Tubby Smith said. “But yeah, I thought he was focused and ready.”

“He wanted to win in a bad way,” Arkansas head basketball coach Mike Anderson said. “He was really able to help us get back into the game, making some tough shots, and getting to the basket, and he goes 8-8 from the free throw line.”
