Former Texas Tech High Jumper Bradley Adkins Ready for Rio

Two weeks ago former Texas Tech high jumper and Idalou native Bradley Adkins stepped off of a flight at Lubbock’s Preston-Smith international airport for the first time as an Olympian.

Adkins cleared his second bar of 7-3 at the U.S. Olympic trials, good enough for a third place finish, and a ticket to Rio to compete in the 2016 Summer Olympics.

At the airport Adkins was welcomed by a mob of friends and family to support him in his return.

He is first Texas Tech high jumper to compete in the Olympics, and will be only the 10th Red Raider to suit up in at the games.
