The LCU Chaparrals opened the season with a bang. On Thursday afternoon, the Chaps topped Adams State 12-7 to take game one of the three game series.
After dropping back 5-0 to the Grizzlies, LCU launched a major comeback with a 7-run 7th inning to runaway with the 5-run victory.
Game two of the series gets underway at 3 p.m. Friday at Hays Field.
