It was a pleasant surprise to see Texas Tech’s junior quarterback Patrick Mahomes earn the start against K-State in a week leading up to a game that he was considered questionable.
Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury didn’t give Mahomes injured shoulder much rest in the start, as Mahomes threw it 62 times against the Wildcats for over 504 yards.
However in the Monday press conference Kingsbury even admitted that as the second half winded down in Manhattan, Mahomes looked tired. As for whether or not Kingsbury believes that Mahomes shoulder inury throughout the season, here is what he had to say:
“I don’t. I think he pushed it to be out there this past week. A lot of guys would not have played in that game,” Kingsbury said. “He wanted to play. And threw it really well. So it will just continue to get better and better.”
