Realignment can create challenges for teams, school districts, coaches, students, and parents.  Surely the windshield time the Cooper Pirates will endure this football season will be every bit of a challenge.  The new District 3-5A, Division two features Cooper, Abilene Wylie, Randall, Plainview, Wichita Falls High, and Wichita Falls Rider.  Fortunately, Coach Max Kattwinkel’s team is filled with some veterans leaders to help lead the charge with eight returning starters on offense and seven on defense.  The Pirates kick off their season August 31st in Andrews against the Mustangs.
