Amarillo High’s Emerson Solano was named 5A/6A Player of the Year by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
Solano is headed to Texas Tech next season.
The former Sandie says she’ll probably leave the award at home as she moves on to the Red Raiders,
“hopefully I can try to get some awards in college then build that up. It makes me know that all my hard work paid off because I’ve always played volleyball and I’ve missed out on so much stuff in the summer. Just to know all my hard work has paid off in the end, volleyball is like my life I can’t imagine not playing.”
