Former Texas Tech Quarterback Patrick Mahomes made his first trip to Dallas as an NFL quarterback on Sunday. Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Dallas Cowboys 28-17.

Mahomes was born in Tyler, Texas and went to high school in Whitehouse, Texas, which is just over two hours from Arlington.

“I wish we could’ve come away with the win, but it was good just to get back and see some family again and everything,” he said.

Mahomes is the backup quarterback for the Chiefs behind Alex Smith. Kansas City drafted him 10th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Even though he didn’t get into the game, he still had plenty of family and friends in attendence, some he was able to get tickets for, and others who took matters into their own hands.

“I think I only came up with 14 or 15. I know a lot of people got tickets on their own. I had high school basketball coaches, all the family members, all the cousins were out here watching the game,” said Mahomes.

Mahomes and his teammates have a bye next week, before they head to the Meadowlands to take on the New York Giants on November 19.
