The LCU Chaps basketball team secured a very important win in the Heartland Conference as they defeated Dallas Baptist 84-78 at home on Thursday. The Chaps were paced by Frenship Tiger alum Marcos Schuster who had a game high 29 points. The turning point in the contest occurred in the waning seconds of the first half as Isaac Asrat drained a three point basket and was fouled giving the Chaps a 42-39 half time lead. Asrat would finish with 13 points for LCU. Four LCU players finished in double figures as the Chaps move to 11-12 overall but most importantly 7-5 in Heartland Conference action. The Chaps will be back on the court at the Rip Griffin Center this Saturday at 3 pm against Rogers State.
