Marshall Kent took down reigning PBA Bowler of the Year E.J. Tackett to win the Lubbock Sports Open. The Yakima, Washington native won the final game 233-194.
The victory marked Kent’s first win on U.S. soil, a feeling of relief for the 24 year-old
“oh my god it was incredible because it’s been awhile since I won and to get the monkey off my back means the absolute world to me.”
Beginning in the seventh frame Kent used six straight strikes to pull away from Tackett,
“you know I had a feeling all weekend that this was going to be a really good tournament and the two three hundreds was an extra bonus that was awesome, I’ve been putting a lot of practice in this week.”
With the win Marshall Kent pocketed 12,500$ and couldn’t have been happier with his experience this weekend,
“it was awesome the fans were great, the lanes were awesome and the hosts were amazing. I’m looking forward to next year already.”
