Returning to Texas Tech has been a dream come true for Red Raider running backs coach Clay McGuire.  McGuire played football for former Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach from 2000 to 2004.  He was able to parlay this into a GA, then assistant coach position for Leach until 2009.  From there, McGuire was an assistant for former Red Raider Defensive Coordinator Ruffin McNeal at East Carolina until he rejoined Leach at Washington State.  Texas Tech has always been a home for McGuire and he was all to anxious to come back and coach with his former quarterback Kliff Kingsbury.  “It’s just one of those places where you’re falling in love with Lubbock and you fall in love with Texas Tech and my entire family are Red Raiders and everyone want to coach at their alma mater.”
