ARLINGTON, Texas — Motley County lost in the state championship game Wednesday, falling 62-16 to Richland Springs.

The Matadors were not able to get going on offense, being held scoreless for most of the first half. Richland Springs got out to a 24-0 lead before Motley County’s first score, and the game was never close after that.

One notable accomplishment from the game: Motley County’s Jake Richards went over 4,000 rushing yards for the season.

Motley County finishes its season 11-4.
