Legendary Texas Tech Coach Corky Oglesby passed away on Sunday after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 81.
Oglesby joined Texas Tech in 1969 as an assistant basketball coach under Bob Bass. After that, he served as the head men’s track and field coach for 20 years, before working as the Director of Special Projects for the Red Raider Club since 1997.
As the track and field coach, Oglesby coached 32 All-Americans, 11 SWC outdoor champions and seven SWC indoor champions.
