The number eight Texas Tech Red Raiders only trailed one time for 18 seconds as they completed the season sweep of the Texas Longhorns 70-51. After UT’s Matt Coleman hit a three to give the ‘Horns a 5-4 lead, Coronado alum Jarrett Culver was quick to answer with a layup to make it 6-5 Tech. The Red Raiders stretched the lead out by as many as 20 points in the second half led by Culver’s 16. On senior night Brandone Francis added 12 all in the second half and Matt Mooney also chipped in 15. Davide Moretti was three for three behind the arc finishing with 11 points. This is the first time since the 1995-96 season the Red Raiders have swept the Longhorns in a season series and it is also the largest margin of victory over UT since then. Texas Tech wraps up their season on the road Saturday against Iowa State with a shot of at least tying for the Big 12 regular season title.
