The Estacado Matadors and Levelland Lobos finished day one of the Texas 7 on 7 Championships heading into different brackets. After dropping their first game 26-19 to Giddins, the Estacado Matadors won the next two over Bay City 32-25 and 47-20 over Deweyville to advance out of pool play into the championship bracket. The Levelland Lobos however dropped all three of their games; 44-28 to Gatesville, 39-24 to Carthage, and 39-28 to Brazosport. The Lobos will play in the consolation bracket beginning Friday against Canton while the Matadors will face Fairfield in the championship bracket. The Coronado Mustangs begin their run in division one pool play Friday against DeSoto. The Mustangs will play three games and need to finish in the top two of their pool in order to advance to the championship bracket.
