Some changes on the way for several schools and school districts as the  University Interscholastic League announces realignment and reclassification for 2018 to 2020.  Below are just some of the notes on changes for the next two years for football, basketball, and volleyball.  For a complete list of all of the changes go to UIL’s website http:www.uiltexas.org

6A

San Angelo Central moves out of 2-6A and over to 3-6A playing metroplex area teams Frenship, Tascosa, Midland, Midland Lee, Odessa, and Odessa Permian.

5A

San Angelo Lake View moves out of 4-5A and down to 4A Division 1. Monterey, Coronado, Lubbock High, Caprock, Amarillo High and Abilene Cooper will be the new 2-5A Division 1.

Lubbock Cooper and Plainview will join Randall, Wichita Falls High, Wichita Falls Rider, and Abilene Wylie as the new 3-5A Division 2. Wylie moves up from 4A Division 1.

4A

Seminole moves up to 2-4A Division 1 and will be in a four team district with Andrews, Big Spring and San Angelo Lake View.

Estacado and Levelland will both move down to 4A Division 2 and join former district mate Borger along with Dalhart and Perryton to form 2-4A Division 2

3A

Brownfield and Denver City both move down to 1-3A Division 1 part of a four team district with Tornillo and Kermit.

Bushland moves down to 3A Division 1 and will be part of 2-3A Division 1 with Littlefield, Muleshoe, Shallowater and Slaton.

Abernathy moves up to 3A Division 2 from 2A Division 1 and will join Coahoma, Colorado City, Idalou, Roosevelt, and Stanton in 2-3A Division 2

2A

After Abernathy’s departure, Post will slide into 2-2A Division 1 with Floydada, Hale Center, New Deal, Olton, and Sundown.

1A

Morton finally settles into it’s role in 6-Man football as they will be in 5-1A Divison 1 with Meadow, Ropes, Wellman-Union, and Whiteface.
