In this week’s edition of Where Are They Now, we sat down with Dunbar Basketball player Quincy White to discuss his experience as part of the 1965 State Championship team.  White spoke about how influential not only coaching like Curtis Gipson were in his life, but his teachers at Dunbar as well.  Those people were his idols, his role models.  “A few years ago Charles Barkley came out with that message ‘I’m not a role model.’  ” I couldn’t agree more.”  After working in various capacities after school, White was able to flourish in a sales career with Xerox.  White ended his professional career working for the City of Lubbock in various capacities including Deputy City Manager.  His advice for young athletes that have the potential to make it professionally in sports, “Don’t forget where you came from.”
