Kirby Hocutt didn’t hide his feelings on the team’s 5-7 finish in his press conference on Sunday afternoon,
“when your football season ends in November it’s not a good thing, very disappointed with our performance this football season.”
Despite the disappointment the AD gave Kliff Kingsbury a vote of confidence,
“I believed in Kliff Kingsbury when we hired him in December 2012 and I believe in Kliff Kingsbury today.”
Hocutt does expect some changes to be made within the program, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
“Defense we’re not very good we’re not going to achieve at the level we expect to achieve we’re not going to have the results we expect to have with the defensive performance that we’ve put on the field.”
The Athletic Director would go on to say,
“I think you will see Coach Kingsbury become much more involved and engaged on the defensive side of the ball than he’s ever been.”
By the sound of Sunday’s press conference, 2017 could be a make or break year for the Texas Tech head coach.
