The LCU Lady Chaps took on Alaska-Anchorage on Monday afternoon in the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship Game held at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN.
Both teams were held scoreless until the 7:13 mark of the first quarter, when Kelsey Hoppel knocked down a layup. The Lady Chaps would take an 18-13 lead at the end of the first quarter, their 84th consecutive quarter to have the lead. In the second quarter, LCU would extend their lead to 40-32. After third quarter, LCU was leading 60-50. The Lady Chaps withstood a late Seawolves run to hang on and win 78-73
