Texas Tech(10-8, 1-6) started cold and couldn’t stop an early onslaught from #19 Oklahoma, eventually falling in Norman, Ok., 92-53 on Wednesday.
The 92 points was the most given up by a Candi Whitaker in Big 12 play since January 29, 2014 at Baylor(also 92).
After the first quarter, Tech trailed OU 30-6 on the scoreboard.
The Lady Raiders’ defense wasn’t up to the task at the Lloyd Noble Center, allowing Oklahoma to shoot 57% from the field for the game, while Tech shot just 38%.
The problem for the Tech offense was giving up 20 turnovers, which was converted on the other end for 25 Sooner points.
The Lady Raiders will take on Kansas State on Sunday at 2pm at United Supermarkets Arena.
