Texas Tech visits Arkansas for another road test Saturday in Fayetteville.
The Lady Raiders (4-2) are trying to hand the Razorbacks (7-0) their first loss of the season.
Tech’s only losses have come away from Lubbock and both at the hands of ranked teams Miami and Texas A&M.
“We’ve just been so battle tested early,” Whitaker said. “I think we’ve learned a lot from both so I’m hoping to see an improvement in a lot of ways.”
Whitaker’s team will try to contain Arkansas’ Jessica Jackson.
The senior forward has scored in double figures in each game this season and is averaging a team-best 16.7 points per game, which ranks eighth in the SEC.
I grew up playing against Jackson in AAU and Team USA,” sophomore Recee’ Caldwell said. “She’s just so talented and versitle. I think it’s going to be a good test for us.”
Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
