In the opening game of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders came up short, 66-60, to Arkansas Saturday afternoon.
Texas Tech (4-3) jumped out to an early 11-5 lead in the first quarter, but the Razorbacks (8-0) fought back to take the lead for the rest of the game.
The Lady Raiders battled in the second half and outscored the Razorbacks (34-28) but it wasn’t enough to regain the lead.
The Lady Raiders have now had two or more players with double figure points in all seven games this season. Sophomore guard Recee’ Caldwell led the team with 29 points, marking her third 20+ point game of the season and fifth double-figure game of the season.
Junior center Jada Terry followed with 12 points, a career-high five blocks and nine boards. Terry has scored in double figures in six straight games.
The Lady Raiders recorded a season-best 12 blocks against the Razorbacks. Terry led the team five while freshman Arella Guirantes followed with four of her own.
