The Texas Tech Lady Raiders took second place in the Miami Thanksgiving Tournament after falling, 74-56, to No. 21/22 Miami on Sunday afternoon.

Texas Tech (3-2) trailed Miami (5-1) at the half, 31-23, but the Lady Raiders came out in the third quarter on a 6-0 run to pull within one. A Miami foul and technical foul in the same play gave the Lady Raider three more points to take the lead 32-31.

But the Hurricanes went on an 8-0 run to regain the lead and, ultimately, the win.

Freshman Arella Guirantes led the team with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists. The 14 points marked Guirantes’ fourth double-figure game of the season. Junior Jada Terry also scored double digits for the fourth-straight game.
