The Texas Tech Lady Raiders will participate in the first league-wide installment of the Big 12/SEC Challenge when they face Arkansas on Dec. 3.
This season marks the first in which 10 games will be played. The format consists of five home games on campus sites for each conference. Two teams from each league participated in the past two years with the conferences splitting the games each season for an overall 2-2 series record.
Games will be scheduled over the dates of Thursday-Sunday, December 1-4. Times and television designation will be released when available.  Half of the contests feature at least one team that was ranked in the final 2015-16 USA Today coaches’ poll while three will highlight top 25 matchups.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge,” Texas Tech head coach Candi Whitaker said. “Traveling to Arkansas will be a great opportunity for our players and we are excited for the challenge.”
Tech’s trip to Arkansas is one of two SEC road trips the Lady Raiders will make during the 2016-17 non-conference slate, the other being an appearance at Reed Arena on Nov. 17 to take on Texas A&M.
