The Lubbock High Lady Westerners had already made school history entering Tuesday night’s matchup at Abilene Cooper, with 2 district wins. With a win against the Lady Cougars, they would clinch their first ever playoff berth.
Abilene Cooper would take a 16-14 lead into the second quarter, but the Lady Westerners would take a 27-25 lead into the halftime break. They would extend it by a point in the third quarter, going up 42-39 heading into the final period. In the fourth it would be all Lady Westerners as they would win 58-51, earning that playoff bid.
Next up for the Lady Westerners, they will host Lubbock Cooper on Friday.
