Since 1971 the Littlefield football program has had a total of three head football coaches.
On Friday morning the Littlefield ISD school board nominated and approved defensive coordinator Brent Green to become the fourth head coach in program history.
Green spent the past 13 years as DC under head coach Bryan Huseman but has been with the team for the past 22 seasons.
Coach Green will replace Huseman who retired in January after 26 years at the helm of Littlefield football, he was 132-61 as a coach.
The Wildcats won their first district title since 2012 this past season but will have to replace the likes of running back and linebacker Brian Acevedo among others in 2017.
