The two Coopers met in Lubbock Tuesday night as the Pirates hosted Abilene Cooper.
The Pirates started strong taking the lead, but the Cougars bounced right back to a tie score at 8 all. Later the Pirates pulled ahead by almost ten and the game would stay close the whole time, with Lubbock coming out on top 66-56.
The Pirates go on to face San Angelo Lakeview on teacher appreciation night in Lubbock next Tuesday the 26th.
