Tuesday morning Alex Bonner signed his letter of intent to wrestle at Wayland Baptist.
The Lubbock High grappler finished fourth in regionals this year qualifying for the state tournament in the process.
Bonner started wrestling in 7th grade and was excited to have the chance to further his career,
“I’ve progressed a lot even from the beginning of this year I watched a video from my first match of the year and I just really progressed a lot and I’m ready to progress even more in the next four years,” said Bonner.
His head coach Neal Tull says the Pioneers are getting a phenomenal competitor,
“he’s relentless, he’s completely aggressive on the mat, quick, lengthy, and agile. I mean they’re getting a really good wrestler with a lot of potential and I still don’t think he’s peaked out yet.”
