Tevin Madison confirmed on Twitter Wednesday that he plans to transfer from Texas Tech.

“First I’d like to thank Kirby Hocutt and Coach Kingsbury for the opportunity to be a red raider the past years, but after praying and talking with my family I plan to finish my academic and athletic career elsewhere beginning in the spring,” Madison posted on Twitter. “I look forward to chasing what God has in store for me and my family.  Also, I look forward to watching my fellow teammates and brothers win a Big 12 championship.  These past years I’ve created bonds that won’t ever be broken.  I will always support them and know they will do the same for me.  Much love to my boys, this university, and its fan base. #wreckem”

Kliff Kingsbury said the junior cornerback was no long with the football team following Saturday’s game against Louisiana Tech.

Madison had nine tackles in Texas Tech’s first two games but did not start in either after starting all 13 games last season.
