The Monterey Plainsmen topped San Angelo Central 86-67 Monday night at Monterey High School.
Head Coach Emanuel Roland said he wanted to see his guys get out to a fast start. That, they did, taking a commanding 24-9 lead to begin the contest.
Jordan Lacy led the team with 19 points while Russell Harrison pitched in 18 of his own.
The win moves the Plainsmen to 15-8 this season. It was the final non-district game before Monterey opens league play on the road against Amarillo Friday night.
